Wow, I am actually posting it a day after the show, fastest post since the summer!
Today's show was one I am very pleased with, has a nice variety, and many great artists with very different sounds are crammed within 90 minutes. My favourite part is the juxtaposition between Gogol Bordello and This Mortal Coil, which really embodies what I aimed to create with this program.
1) Om- Thebes (God is Good)
2) Ensemble Plolaris- Klosterjungfurun (Vikings on Vacation)
3) Satomi Sakei- Matsuri No Taiko (Japanese Koto Music)
4) Nudge- Harmo (As Good As Gone)
5) Gogol Bordello- American Wedding (Live From Axis Mundi)
6) This Mortal Coil- Another Day (It'll End in Tears)
7) Tegan and Sara- The Ocean (Sainthood)
8) Language Arts- Where Were You in the Wild (Where Were You in the Wild)
9) We Are Wolves- Dreams (Invisible Violence)
10) The Slits- Reject (Trapped Animal)
11) Throbbing Gristle- Convincing People (20 Jazz Funk Greats)
12) Air- So Light is Her Footfall (Love 2)
13) More or Les & Fresh- Crossbow (The Les Kills EP)
14) A Tribe Called Quest- Steve Biko [Stir it Up] (Midnight Marauders)

Playlist for May 4, 2009
The above image is from one of my favourite movies, and my dvd contains an additional cd of music inspired by this highly influential cyper-punk film. Read up on Tetsuo: The Iron Man on imdb or wikipedia, and if interested, check it out. (Incase you're wondering, my avatar for blogspot comes from the film).
Onto the playlist, which featured many rap songs, because I have been lacking in the hip-hop department for too long. The Two Fingers project featuring Amon Tobin, Doubleclick, and MC Sway is pretty prime, and thanks to Murad from Productive Confusion for pushing me to play it. Songs inspired by Tetsuo are in grey.
1) Herbie Hancock- Maiden Voyage (Maiden Voyage)
2) Curtis Andrews- Vedic Square Dance (The Offering of Curtis Andrews)
3) Gregory Kraj- The Chinatown Bank Heist (Mama Don't Cry)
4) The Foreign- Quicksand (Elemental)
5) Two Fingers- Jewels & Gems (Two Fingers)
6) Lexington and Whatevski- Shotgun a Beer (Preggars Can't Be Choosers)
7) Nas- N.Y. State of Mind (Illmatic)
8) Battles- Race: In (Mirroed)
9) Flying Saucer Attack- The Season is Ours (Flying Saucer Attack)
10) This Mortal Coil- Song of the Siren (It'll End in Tears)
11) Frontline Assembly- Black Fluid (Music Inspired By Tetsuo the Ironman)
12) Razed in Black- Oh My Goth (Music Inspired By Tetsuo the Ironman)
13) Synaesthesia- Dark Core (Music Inspired By Tetsuo the Ironman)
