Live from the CAW main floor. Playlist for June 01, 2009

Today was a unique broadcast for the juxtaposing jukebox, as I broadcast the show from the main floor of the C.A.W. Centre instead of 'the fathomless depths of the C.A.W. basement' where CJAM usually broadcasts. The experience was interesting, and I really enjoyed interacting with other people from various University clubs. Drawbacks from simulcasting were mostly with regards to timing and operating the microphones in a perfectly rhymic fashion.

Here is the playlist, consisting mostly of favourite artists that most of you know and love (or I assume you would, if you listen to the show and whatnot). However, I will mention the new album from Productive Confusion's DJ Me, under his musical alias (wh) y.m.e. (??), which is worth a spin for any fans of electronic music or any type of music to sit back and reflect upon things with. Also, the new Sunn O))) album Monoliths & Dimensions is my current favourite of 2009, and will likely top the list of best releases from this year. It's a stunning album that ranks among the best of this decade.

1) Hella- Biblical Violence (Hold Your Horse Is)
2) Don Caballero- June is Finally Here (What Burns Never Returns)
3) Land of Kush- Light Over Ranges (Against the Day)
4) Kronos Quartet- Raga Mishra Bharavi (Floodplan)
5) Fly Pan Am- Brûlez suivant, suivante! (N'ectoutez pas)
6) Sunn O)))- Big Church [[megszentségteleníthetetlenségeskedéseitekért] (Monoliths & Dimensions)
7) Torche- Across the Shields (Meanderthal)
8) Golgo Bordello- Let's Get Radical (Multi Kontra vs. Irony)
9) Portishead- All Mine (Portishead)
10) Tim Hecker- Borderlands (An Imaginary Country)
11) (wh)y.m.e. (??)- A Shadows Play (new album)
12) Download- Possession (The Eyes of Stanley Pain)
13) Hocico- Born to be Hated (Wrack and Ruin)

Next Week is one not to miss, I will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of the iconic Joy Division- Unkown Pleasures. Many tracks from this seminal album will be played.
